You play a healer. You have no attack button. You will never have one.

What you have is a song. Six of them, eventually. They mend, cleanse, shield, bloom, wake and rally, and every one of them costs mana you do not have enough of. The creatures that walk beside you do the fighting. Your only job is to keep them standing long enough to reach the next bend in the road.

Mosslight runs in your browser. Close the tab and it keeps going at half pace for up to twelve hours, and tells you what happened while you were gone.

WHAT IS IN IT

- 3 regions and 24 roads, from the quiet Verge out to the Cinder Steps
- 12 creatures to befriend, across 4 classes, each with its own art and behaviour
- 6 songs with their own cast animations, on separate cooldowns and one mana pool
- 18 gifts to equip across 5 rarities, with mastery, scrapping and auto-wear
- 9 materials, 7 provisions and 6 sanctuary buildings that pull from the deepest region you have opened
- 8 Insight upgrades, 7 store items, 10 titles and a 21-entry Ledger
- 15 story requests that run the length of the game
- Sabbatical at level 50 if you want to start the climb again faster

HOW IT PLAYS

Pick a road. Pick who walks it with you. Then watch, and sing when it matters. Ailments stack and each one wants a different answer, so the 5 ailment types are marked with shapes as well as colour. Auto-allot, auto-wear and auto-scrap take over the bookkeeping once you have earned them, which is the point: the busywork retires, the decisions do not. The coin cap starts at 25,000 and there are upgrades that raise it. Your satchel holds 24 gifts. Neither number is a nag screen.

COMFORT AND ACCESS

- Two themes, Heather and Lantern, both checked against WCAG AA for text contrast
- Four text sizes, a high-contrast mode, and reduced-motion support
- Zen mode hides the panels and leaves the lane
- Full-screen where the browser allows it
- Full keyboard navigation, with the shortcut table inside Settings
- Ailments readable without relying on colour

SAVING

The game saves to your browser automatically, and there are three manual slots.
You can also export your save to a file and import it back, which is how you move a run to another machine or another browser. There is no cloud save and no account. Nothing about you leaves your browser.

If you clear your site data, the autosave and the three slots go with it, so export a file before you do that.

PRICE

Free. No ads, no purchases, no tracking, no network calls of any kind. The page ships with a content security policy that blocks outbound connections, so the game cannot phone home even if I wanted it to.

WHAT IS NOT DONE

- Mobile layout exists and is tested in a headless browser at phone sizes, but it has not been played on real phone hardware. Report anything that looks wrong.
- No cloud save, as above.
- Region 3 is the end of the road for now. More is planned, nothing is promised.
- Pet swapping, song loadouts and a codex are designed and not built.

Version 0.3.0. Made by DHSeaDev.

Its layered-prestige structure is inspired by the idle auto-battler genre; all names, art, text and numbers are original.
